Nothing Wrong Here…

Helen waited…
Her eyes took in the home bathed in the bright rays of the morning sun, twitters of birds calling resplendently from the trees surrounding the grounds, bright greens of the grass travelling up and down the long slopes that meandered like a calm seascape under a windless day.
This is to be my new place of residence, her mind thought as her eyes took in the sights. A light breeze brushed past her shoulders laced with the sweet scent of huckleberries and lavender from the bushes around her. She shook off the chill, setting a wondering gaze upon the three-story home set at the end of the long walkway.
White, all white walls of brick interposed with large windows along the ground floor at the front, while another small series, four it seemed, to run along the second floor broken only by two open balconies at each end. From where she stood, she could barely make out the gilded railings adorning them, and beyond through the pane glass windows long dark curtains a royal blue she guessed hung lifeless shutter closed.
On the upper floor, three turreted rooms rose up, one at each corner while third lone turret stood at the middle like a sentry watching the front area for any signs of trouble. Red shingles lined the roof in concentric rows melding back into the main structure, hints of grey and green mossy growth spotting around the top.
This was too much for Helen, giving her a light pinch on an arm to make sure she wasn’t wrapped inside another whimsical dream.
Ouch… sharp pricks of pain told her that this was no dream, and that she was about to stride so casually up this long stony walkway, straight into the large set of double doors at the top of those looming steps, the new governess of Medway Manor.
Boot those idiots thought Helen reaching down picking up her bags. I don’t see anything to worry about…eh?
For a second a figure barely appeared at one of the upper-floor windows, small she thought before disappearing back behind the curtains. Maybe one of her soon to be new charges, but she couldn’t tell losing sight of the room as she began climbing up the wooden steps, low creeks sounding with each step as she did.

Thanks. I wanted to add more details but felt that might drag things down. Its not a fully fleshed out story, but I think this was a good start to description on my part.
