Surprise!

Vicky’s saturday mood begins the moment she wakes up at 9am at her small but lively apartment. The sun peaked thru her window, ever brightly touching her closed eyes that slowly opens by its light.

Yes, the weekend vibes for a cup of coffee with no check in emails or phone calls, sipping her hot spanish latte she made and a little chit chat with herself while listening to her neighbour’s potential divorce (it’s been going on for months now, threats and all).

“Must’ve been that beer all along..tsk men these days! “ muttered Vicky as she rinsed the last piece of plate after breakfast

“And that woman could have given him nicely, should’ve left him already! “ she continued as she now gets her laundry from the machine to start hanging them dry. And continues to hear that loud whispers from her apartment wall, the banging of the chairs, the rude exchange of who did what to who.

A typical day for Saturday..

“Ding dong!!!”

Vicky startled. Who on earth could be disturbing her peace this day! She made sure that her phone is off, wifi off and even anything that connects her to the outside world.

“Ding dong! Ding dong!”

Vicky walked stumping her feet as she approaches the front door. No body visits her on Saturdays and she detests visits on her off days.

Went to the door rather banging her feet on the floor. Muttering “when can i have some peace in this life” saying it while teeth clenched

She opened the door without looking who it was

And lo! Her eyes widened with fear and surprise but not happy surprise. More of like I-never-want-to-see-you surprise.

She closed the door but before she could shut it completely, his hand blocked it to keep it open.

“What are you doing here!” Vicky angrily now

“Hey! Ahm can i come in?” Alex said rather excited and no shame at all.

“No! You leave now or i’ll call the police!” said Vicky while attempting to slam the door again.

“That…” Alex stopped the door from closing and banging. Smiling he said “that is not the way to treat an old friend you know”

“What do u want?” Vicky started fearing of him.

You do a great job showing Vicky’s daily routine and setting up your story with Alex’s arrival. You successfully made me care about Vicky and worry about her. I hope you continue with this story!
