Cecilia knew it couldn’t be true. He was supposed to be in Europe. She nearly choked on her usual Friday night TV dinner when she saw Stan, her work partner, leading a protest on the 7pm news. A protest against the plans of their company’s biggest client.
She knew he had been unhappy at work but never expected this. Bloody idiot, what was he thinking? Cecilia loved doing nothing on her weekends. All she could think was ‘this is not going to be good for me’.
The Beatles’ Hard Days Night blasted loudly over the TV and she bolted to find her phone. “Cel, you’ve got to help me! Im scared and I’m in big trouble,” Stan’s voice scratched through the phone, “please, please, can you hide me?”
